Richie Sambora might still make it to the New Orleans Jazz Fest

Reports that Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora was bound for rehab this week seemed to indicate that he would miss the band's Saturday performance at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. The band confirmed as much with a posting on its web site that read in part, "Although he will be absent from upcoming shows for the time being, we very much look forward to his healthy return. In the meantime, we will keep our commitment to our fans and continue our tour."

There is still a chance Richie Sambora will find his way back to the Fair Grounds for Bon Jovi's show at the New Orleans Jazz Fest on Saturday

However, as I left the Fair Grounds around 8:45 p.m. on Friday after filing my last reviews, the Bon Jovi road crew was already assembling the band's gear on the Acura Stage. Tico Torres' massive drum kit was in place; it will be moved to the back of the stage as other bands perform Saturday.

Interestingly, at stage right stood a standard microphone and the tube device used for "talk box" guitar solos.

A member of the crew confirmed that this was Sambora's guitar rig. So would Sambora actually make the gig at Jazz Fest? "We'll see what happens," said the roadie, declining to elaborate further.

Jon Bon Jovi was in New Orleans on Friday; he met with at-risk young people at Café Reconcile, part of his duties for the White House Council for Community Solutions.

If Sambora jets in for the gig - either taking a break from rehab, or delaying his admission into a program - he would likely receive a hero's welcome from fans who count him as an integral part of Bon Jovi's appeal.

If he doesn't make the gig, the question remains who Bon Jovi would use as a stand-in. If it's an unknown, then a surprise appearance by a guest star or two would go a long way to mitigating disappointment at Sambora's absence.

But the best substitute for Richie Sambora would be...Richie Sambora.

Members Of White House Council For Community Solutions To Hold Youth Listening Tours Across The Country

First Session in New Orleans on April 29 will be one of several with Jon Bon Jovi; Atlanta, Houston and New York City visits planned

Washington, DC – The White House Council for Community Solutions (WHCCS) today announced that Councilmember Jon Bon Jovi will host youth listening tours at various community-based organizations across the country. Bon Jovi, who will be joined by other members of the White House Council, will engage young Americans and community leaders in candid conversations to determine where efforts are most needed. Findings will be compiled in a final report to the Council in June in an effort to highlight solutions. The WHCCS listening tour adds to the White House’s broader effort to engage young people nationwide through youth roundtables.

The first listening session will take place in New Orleans on Friday, April 29, 2011, where youth who have been served by local organizations Café Reconcile, Liberty’s Kitchen, Youth Empowerment Project and Tulane Drop In Center will attend. Additional cities where similar visits are planned include Atlanta, Houston, and New York City.

Currently, less than half of young Americans have the education, training and skills needed to compete in today’s workforce by the time they reach the age of 25. President Obama established the White House Council to bring all sectors together – individuals, business, community organizations, philanthropy, and government – to identify solutions to pressing issues, such as helping young people succeed, and make lasting progress on our national priorities.

After the roundtables, the youth participants can submit their most pressing issues and most inspiring solutions to the White House’s Your Future, Your Solutions: 100 Youth Strategies to Win the Future website. This effort enables the administration to hear directly from young people about the challenges they face and connect participants with Obama Administration officials through conference calls, web chats, and other opportunities.

#
Established in December 2010 by President Obama, the White House Council for Community Solutions will focus on an issue with critical near-term and long-term consequences for our nation’s health and economic strength – the responsibility of our society to ensure adolescents and young adults are prepared to live productive and prosperous lives. The Council is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service. More information about the WHCCS can be found at www.serve.gov/council.

Your Future, Your Solutions: 100 Youth Strategies to Win the Future is an effort that enables the administration to hear directly from young people about the challenges they face. The initiative connects participants with Obama Administration officials through conference calls, web chats, and other opportunities.

Richie Sambora Rehabbing…Again

Richie Sambora Rehabbing…Again

It’s back to The Drunk Tank for Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora.
The rock star who famously came between blonde besties Denise Richards and Heather Lockler has reportedly decided to re-enter treatment after falling off the wagon in his ongoing battle against the bottle, according to reports Thursday.
”Richie recently has been drinking too much, and wants to get his life together. Richie has had a busy year. I think this was a culmination of all the things that overloaded his life and finally he realized he needed to take care of himself.”

Sambora, 51, has a storied history with substance abuse. In 2007, the “Living on a Prayer” star checked into the celeb-favored Cirque Lodge in Utah only to check out and return to rehab at the UCLA Medical Center later that same year. Sambora pled no contest in 2008 to DUI after getting pulled over in Laguna Beach with his and Locklear’s daughter, Ava, riding shotgun. His probation for that offense ended just last week.
Sambora and his Bon Jovi bandmates are scheduled to take the stage in New Orleans this Saturday night. At press time, all future shows on Bon Jovi’s current North American tour are expected to go on.

Victoria’s Secret
by Billy Falcon

Here I go again, feeling like a criminal
Phantom in her nights, in her days I’m invisible
I don’t use the driveway, I park around the block
I go in the back door, she leaves it unlocked
It’s dark in her kitchen, but candles light the hallway
Feel my stomach tremble; I know she’s waiting for me
I came here to tell her that I can’t come here no more
My good intentions crumble behind her bedroom door

I’m Victoria’s Secret, nobody can know
She calls me up when her husband goes
I promised myself this is the last time
I’d lie in her arms telling myself she’s mine
She gives me her love, but I know I can’t keep it
I can never be more, I’m Victoria’s Secret

Before the sun comes up, like a fugitive I steal away
No one sees me go, but it’s not a clean getaway
I take nothing with me, but I leave so much behind
How can I be forgiven, when I’m the sin she hides?
I’m Victoria’s Secret, nobody can know

She calls me up when her husband goes
I promised myself this is the last time
I’d lie in her arms telling myself she’s mine
She gives me her love, but I know I can’t keep it
I can never be more; I can never be more,
I’m Victoria’s Secret

Bon Jovi star Richie Sambora 'checks into rehab to regain sobriety'

Bon Jovi star Richie Sambora has checked into rehab for 'exhaustion' and to 'regain his sobriety', it has been reported.
The 51-year-old guitarist, who has just finished a hugely popular tour with Bon Jovi, is said to be determined to get his life back on track and thinks a stay in a rehabilitation facility is the way forward.

A source told gossip website RadarOnline.com: 'Richie recently has been drinking too much, and wants to get his life together.'

The rest of the band are said to be very supportive of the musician's decision to seek help.

This is not the first time Sambora has checked himself into rehab.

In 2007, following a traumatic year which saw him split from then-girlfriend Denise Richards in the same month that his father died of cancer, Sambora spent a month in Utah's Cirque Lodge facility.
After leaving rehab, Sambora said at the time: 'I was just drinking too much and I needed to get my life together.
'I’m still in therapy and stuff like that, but it’s good. I’m great. I feel fine.'
In 2008, Sambora was arrested

And now Sambora is said to have decided the best step for him at this point in his life is to return to a facility for treatment.

A close friend of the guitarist told Radaronline.com: 'Richie has had a busy year. I think this was a culmination of all the things that overloaded his life and finally he realized he needed to take care of himself.'

As yet it is unclear how Sambora's decision will affect Bon Jovi's remaining American tour dates this month, and their European dates in June

Future? It is unclear how Sambora's decision will affect Bon Jovi (from leftTico Torres, Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan and Sambora) who have more tour dates in America this month
