Bon Jovi to speak with children in Newark
NEWARK — Bon Jovi may be known for the kind of tour that makes a lot of noise — but the band's leader says he's on a different kind of tour just to listen.
Jon Bon Jovi will be in Newark today to conclude a "listening tour with disengaged youth" as part of his role as a White House Council member.
The Sayreville native has been taking time off from his band's current sold-out world tour to talk to young people across America about their efforts to stay on track despite the obstacles they face.
It's the final stop on a tour that held previous sessions at community organizations serving young people in New Orleans, Atlanta and Houston.
Today's session will be hosted at the Youth Education & Employment Success Center in Newark, 200 Washington Street.
